Alexis Wong - UCLA Martial Arts Student Coordinator

Alexis Wong began training in Choy Li Fut Kung Fu at the tender age of 8 years. After achieving her Black Sash, she went on to learn Yang Style Tai Chi and Traditional Chinese Lion Dancing. As a young adult, she taught all three arts to students at her home school before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a Masters in Animation. Even in her artistic pursuits, Alexis credits her experience as a martial artist, she believes in the statement that animation is the “study of motion,” and  “puppeteering through a pencil.” She finds that the greater grasp of motor control gained from her training give her a better understanding of her characters. She aspires to one day create stories that set high morals for young audiences and to positively represent the martial arts community as a whole.
Alexis is an active member of the UCLA Lion Dance Team!
